Description
Antique Dutch “Nikkel Olie” (Nickel Oil) bottle, originating from the Netherlands (Holland) and dating to the late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1890–1910.
This bottle is clearly labeled “Nikkel Olie” and “Merk J.R.”, with original Dutch usage instructions printed on the paper label. Nickel oil was a common household and workshop product used for polishing and maintaining nickel-plated and copper items, including cookware, bicycles, kettles, and household fixtures.
The bottle retains its original contents, which present a striking aqua-green hue when tilted in the light, contrasting beautifully with the darker amber tones of the glass. The rectangular form with beveled shoulders and thick glass base is characteristic of turn-of-the-century European utility and apothecary-style bottles.
