Atari ST/STE/STFM Universal Floppy Disk Drive adapter or Gotek with14 Pin DIN original (Combo edition)
New professional DIN14 to IDC34 adapter that is different from those that can be found online because it is equipped with professional angled IDC34pin connector gold plated with ejector and with this kind of adapter you can use standard unmodified PC Floppy drives or Gotek: therefore here is my "Combo version" :-)
- You can use this external floppy drive adapter for the Atari ST/STFM/STE. This has been also designed around the SD4ST hard drive and is offset so they can both be plugged in at the same time (but ask me for standard straight IDC 34pin)
- This will show up as drive B on the GEM desktop. Please note that there needs to be an internal drive in the ST for it to allow drive B to work (at least in the ones I've tried, although they are all various iterations of STFM so the STE may be different). It doesn't look like it has to work, it just has to be there and hooked up. Please note this'll work fine with the original ST/M but you won't be able to use an SD4ST at the same time because of the layout on the rear. For the original ST/M with no internal drive it'll show up as A and will be bootable.
- As above I've tried this with a Gotek and it works fine as expected. I've also tried it with a regular floppy drive that was nabbed out of an external drive and that loads disks fine. So as long as it doesn't need +12V it'll work fine with the adapter.
- There is also a jumper to invert the floppy ID numbers (ID0/ID1) so you can switch their position to use unmodified PC floppy drives easily!
- Please note that I'm using original 14 pin core for the best for a certain and safe contact with the Atari port!
- If you want I can use standard IDC34 pin (same price) like int he last picture
EXTRA INFO:If you need USB adapter cable (approx. 1.5mt) that is not included in this listing you can send me a message. Price will be 11€
