– Borgel Screw Case
– Movado Manual Wind Movement
– 33mm Case (Excluding Crown)
– Original Patina Dial with Gold Markers
A very attractive vintage Movado housed in a proper Borgel screw case, a style of case well known among collectors for its early waterproof construction and solid engineering.
The dial has developed a soft, even patina over the years with small spotting across the surface that gives it a lot of character. It’s paired with applied gold Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, along with sharp arrow indices and matching gold hands which work really well against the aged dial.
The stainless steel Borgel case measures 33mm excluding the crown, with strong angular lugs and a solid screw-back construction typical of Borgel cases from the period. Cases like this were designed to improve water resistance long before modern case designs became standard.
The watch is currently running within around two minutes per day.
Fitted on a brown leather strap which suits the watch nicely and gives it a classic mid-century look.
