*** This photograph captures the Kaiser-Fleetwings XBTK, a prototype American dive and torpedo bomber from the mid-1940s. The aircraft was designed for the United States Navy starting in 1944. The first XBTK-1 was completed in March 1945, with its first flight on April 12, 1945. Only five examples were built before the contract was terminated in September 1946. This specific image is captioned as showing the aircraft at the Naval Air Training Command (NATC) at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland, in August 1945.
