Description:

Antique clear glass utility pole insulator embossed:

“CORYN PYREX REG. U.S. PAT.”

This is a classic beehive-style insulator (commonly referred to as CD 145 style) used on early telegraph and telephone lines in the early 1900s.

Made of Pyrex (borosilicate) glass, these were designed for durability and resistance to temperature changes. Coryn was the distributor, and Pyrex indicates the glass formula.
