This
is a charming antique cross stitch sampler, showing letters, numbers, borders, a dog and a bird stitched with multicolored cotton thread on white cotton cloth. The sampler is finished at the back with blue and white striped cotton cloth.
The
sampler is French and dates from circa 1910.
It measures approximately 10 1/4 x 19 inches or 26 x 48.5 cm.
The colors of the needlework have faded somewhat over the years. There are a few loose threads and the cloth has some holes in it, please see photo no. 5.
