A genuine Soviet era ceramic wall plaque produced by the Art Fund of the RSFSR, Moscow Regional Department, at the Orekhovo-Zuyevo Art Workshop.

The piece is titled “Moscow Kremlin,” with the name incised into the orange ground on the front in Russian, reading “Москва Кремль.” These scratched letters are part of the original design and were applied before firing, not later additions.

The design depicts a stylised view of the Moscow Kremlin with onion domes in warm ochre tones set against a vivid orange ground. The architectural forms are rendered in a very pale blue rather than white, giving a subtle tonal contrast against the background.

The decoration is hand-applied, with raised outlining and visible brush texture evident under angled light. The surface has a satin-matte glaze finish, giving the plaque a lightly textured appearance typical of 1970s Soviet workshop ceramics.

The original factory label remains to the reverse, confirming production by the Orekhovo-Zuyevo Art Workshop under the Art Fund of the RSFSR. The label gives the title “Moscow Kremlin,” author Bogisov N., article number ХФМО 580, original retail price of 2 rubles 93 kopeks and first quality grade. The label format suggests production likely dating from the 1970s to early 1980s.

The plaque is housed in its original brass-tone metal frame and fitted with a hanging loop for wall display. The reverse is finished with backing paper and retains the factory label.

Measures approximately 6 inches square.

A well preserved and visually striking example of Soviet decorative ceramics with strong graphic appeal and authentic Cold War era provenance.
