• Original Omega signed bracelet and clasp, original glass crystal
The Omega Seamaster f300 Hz is one of the most interesting chapters in Omega’s history, sitting right at the crossover point between traditional mechanical watches and the coming quartz revolution of the early 1970s. These use the licensed ESA tuning fork movement, producing the smooth, continuous sweep seconds hand and the faint hum that these models are famous for. It’s proper period tech, and a very different wearing experience to a standard mechanical Seamaster.
This example is in lovely overall condition. The silver dial is clean and sharp, with crisp printing and nicely aged luminous plots. Hands are original with matching lume.
The case is strong with only light surface marks and a few very minor dinks to the case and bracelet, nothing that stands out on the wrist. The original Omega glass crystal is present. The Seahorse caseback is clear and well defined, and the original Omega signed crown and bracelet with clasp are fitted.
The movement is running well and behaving exactly as it should. The smooth sweep seconds hand is a good sign of a healthy f300 tuning fork movement. On the timegrapher it’s keeping time within around 10 seconds a day, with strong amplitude and good beat error. Date changes cleanly and everything operates as it should.
