WCBD was in operation from June 23rd 1923 to June of 1941. The RCA 74b microphone, to which this flag connects, was introduced in 1937 so this flag dates somewhere between '37-'41 (which is probably the reason for it's great shape. It was purchased from a man living in the Chicago area.

This mic flag is in such great condition that I really believe those who have seen it here think it's fake. But it's not. If you look up the history of these call letters you'll find that each of the two stations didn't exist for long, which being the reason this is in such great shape. Both out of Illinois (one being Chicago). This came from a long time mic collector who was from that area.
Look at the picture of the radio studio in the pics I've posted and you'll get a sense of just how old this flag is. In fact do a search on eBay for "WCBD" and put quotes around those letters and you'll see this same postcard.

This mic flag was purchased from a microphone collector in the area near the stations origin.
The call letters are now used by a TV station in Mount Pleasant SC
This flag is metal and fits a vintage RCA 74b.
