Original Tamburica Brač made in Zagreb circa 1925 by the atelier Glazbala Zagreb, former Yugoslavia.

This instrument has undergone a comprehensive, conservation-led restoration carried out to a museum-level standard. Earlier non-original repairs involving modern wood glue and traces of epoxy were fully removed. All subsequent structural and acoustic work was executed exclusively using traditional animal hide glue.

The instrument is finished entirely in 100% shellac, applied by hand using the French polishing technique. Original construction logic, materials and patina have been carefully preserved while restoring full structural integrity and musical functionality.

A newly hand-cut bone bridge (custom design) and matching bone trzalice (picks) with abalone inlay have been made specifically for this instrument. The original bone nut has been carefully adjusted and preserved. Internal linings and braces have been corrected and re-glued where necessary using historically appropriate methods.

The instrument is fully playable, professionally set up and acoustically responsive, with a light, fast action suited to plectrum technique.

A detailed restoration report and a non-binding valuation report are available and can be supplied digitally.
