Yanagisawa Elimona  A-800 AltoSaxophone

Description

■Referred to manufacturer (Prima instrument)

We have contacted the manufacturer through Prima Musical Instruments, the distributor, regarding the details of this item.
Serial No. (78700159): This is a very old product before the serial number system was established, and the manufacturer's books and records are unclear. We received an answer that this product may have been manufactured during the transition period to the famous A-80 (Erimona).

Prototype element: Although it is made with Elimona, it has no bell "Elimona" engraving, patch or model engraving, while it has a gorgeous hand engraving, which is very rare.

■Considerations from Serial Numbers
It's a guess, but if the first two digits of the serial number, 78, represent 1978 and the next digit, 7, represent July, it would be right before the arrival of Ellimona. The different specifications of the carvings are probably due to the fact that the carvings were made with a lot of energy as "prototype machines" that were being finalized one by one by craftsmen just before the mass production system was established.

■Condition (Overhauled in March 2024)
Maintenance: A full overhaul was performed on March 18, 2024, including the replacement of all tampons. After using it only a few times, it is still in perfect condition in terms of sealing and operability.
