Condition: Used, vintage condition. This item has an estimated manufacture period of pre-WWII, estimated to be from the 1920's or 1930's. This makes this item around 86 - 106 years old. No original packaging, no instructions. The hand crank still turns, and the slicer still rotates when the hand crank is moved. The table clamp can be moved up and down and the table clamp screw can be rotated. The metal piece that controls thickness can be moved. The back half of the wood can be rotated on the hinges for storage. There is surface wear, the original decorative colouring to the edges has faded / worn, there is metal wear, there is wood wear, there is some metal rust wear. There is some noise when the slicer is rotated. We have not serviced this item, if being used functionally, this item may need oiling or sharpening before use. This is a vintage, collectable item that is functional that may need oiling or sharpening to maintain the function of this item. From smoke-free and pet free premises.

Description: Antique German hand-crank food slicer by AWR, manufactured in Germany and dating to the interwar period (circa 1920s–1930s).

This is a solid, early mechanical kitchen slicer made from painted cast metal with a wooden base, designed for slicing bread, sausage and cured meats. The machine is clearly marked “AWR” on the front housing and “Germany” on the rear, indicating pre-WWII manufacture. The steel blade bears a winged bird maker’s mark, typical of Solingen-area blade production.
