This is a beautiful mid '60s Sportsmatic 5, that runs but will need a clean/oil service to restore good timkreping performance.

This watch was made in August of 1960 5.

The case is all stainless steel, and in excellent, unpolished original condition. There is light, normal wear and no notable damage. The case back is excellent, with a strong dolphin imprint. There is a light ding on the back of the case.

The bethel is Chrome over brass, it is in good condition with some brassing on the edge.

The crystal is clear and in very good condition, it does have a 6 mm crack on the edge between 8:00 and 9:00.  Please see the high resolution photos for details.

The dial is a beautiful silver sunburst.  It is naked eye flawless, and almost so under magnification. There is light dust and debris on the surface. Dial print is crisp and clear, applied elements are bright, and shiny. Overall dial condition 9/10.

The watch is powered by the Seiko Cal.6619, an automatic movement having 21 jewels, rotor self winding, day / date complication, and Diashock shock protection.  It winds, sets and runs, but measures low amplitude with erratic timekeeping.

As stated earlier, a clean / oil service will be necessary to restore performance to nominal.

The watch comes on a serviceable black leather strap.

As with all my vintage watch auctions, this one will start at $1 with no reserve. You set the price.
