Here are three proof sets from the early 1960s, which I have owned for close to 40 years. Two years ago water in my basement ruined the original mint envelopes and inserts. However, the mint cellophane remains intact, and most of the coins inside are still unimpaired.
Each of the three sets (1960, 1961, and 1962) includes a Franklin half dollar, Washington quarter, and Roosevelt dime made of 90% silver. The $2.55 face value in silver coins contains 1.845 ounces of pure silver.
Buyer will receive the exact sets pictured here. All coins are problem-free proofs, except for the following:
-- 1960 5c has some small spots of dark goop on the upper obverse rim and lower reverse rim
-- 1960 1c has lots of green oxidation covering half of the obverse and coating the cellophane
-- 1961 25c has some light but ugly toning spots in the field behind Washington's hair
-- 1962 1c has some light but ugly toning spots on the reverse
This is a true auction which will end on eBay as scheduled. Your bid is for all three proof sets pictured here. There is no reserve, no Buy It Now, and no Best Offer option, so please do not ask me to end this auction early for you.
