A genuine Victorian glass dump, dating to the mid–late 19th century.

Formed from recycled molten glass, this example has a rich sea-green colour with plenty of internal bubbles, striations, and movement, all typical of true dump glass. The shape is softly domed, tapering slightly toward the base, with a clearly visible rough pontil scar underneath, confirming its hand-formed origins.

These pieces were never meant to be perfect. They were made quickly, practically, and without apology. Each one is unique, shaped by heat, gravity, and chance rather than design.

The surface shows age-appropriate wear and minor scratches consistent with use and age. No cracks or restoration.

Victorian, c. 1860–1890.

The poet in me would say…

Once discarded,
melted back into usefulness,
given weight and purpose again.

Bubbles caught like breath,
time sealed inside green glass.

Nothing wasted.
Nothing hurried.
Still doing its job.
