Teucrium orientale / Oriental Germander

** 30 seeds **

Hardy perennial / small shrub

Oriental Germander is an Eastern Mediterranean plant, with appealing panicles of small lavender-blue flowers, appearing from June to August/September.  Plants have finely dissected leaves, with a bushy habit and grow to a height of about 40cm.  They look particularly good in rock gardens and gravels gardens, attracting bees and pollinators into the garden.  They are good cut flowers.

Oriental Germander grows best in full sun and well drained soils.  Plants repeat flower after deadheading.  They cope well in containers and garden walls, as they are drought tolerant.

Sow from mid-winter to early summer.  Sow the seeds in a tray of compost, cover very lightly with compost, keep at 20-25 degrees Celsius and germination is erratic and takes 4-8 weeks.  Do not discard the seed tray too quickly.  Early sowings often flower in the first year. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
