LADY LAVERY One Punt Note / £1 Note.

E 086 : Type 13 : 1971 - 1975.
Central Bank of Ireland - Metallic Security Thread Introduced.
Printed Signatures of T K Whitaker and C H Murray.

In this Series Only Three dates of the Security Thread Note were issued by Whitaker and Murray and this note is from the MIDDLE Date.

Dates of Issue in this Series and Serial Numbers :
8th July 1971 - 21J to 60 J,
28th June 1972 - 60 J - 01K and
17th May 1974 - 08K to 51K.
Date: 28th June 1972.
Serial No: 77J 542013.
Serial Numbers Issued for This Date : 60J - 99J and 01K to 21400.

Condition : Fine Minus Collectable Condition with numerous folds and creases. Complete front and reverse has light discolouration and light staining. Obverse : Has been folded in eight at some stage leaving other top to bottom folds. Lots of small edge nicks and small creases on the top and bottom edges probably from being counted in an electric counting machine at some stage. Reverse : Folds and creases from the front are showing through.  The staining is slightly heavier on the white design around the edge of the note.

Counting Marks: None.
Pin Holes : None.

Conclusion : Fine Minus Lady Lavery One Punt / One Pound from 1972 for the Lady Lavery Collectors.

This notes serial numbers 77J 542013 was issued on the 28th June 1972 by T K Whitaker, Governor and C H Murray, Secretary of the Department of Finance of the Central Bank of Ireland.

In this Issue of the One Punt only THREE dates were issued and this note is from the MIDDLE date with the Serial Nos 60J - 99J and 01K to 21400.

This note was also used in Northern Ireland as one pounds sterling, when the PUNT and sterling had the same value. The Punt then took its own value and now the currency in Ireland is the Euro.
