2016 Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI Auto – CarPlay – Drives Well – Honest Sale

Overview

For sale is my 2016 Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI Automatic, which I’ve owned since March 2023. It is a very comfortable car to drive, smooth on the motorway and practical as an estate.

The car starts and drives well, and is used regularly, but it is not perfect and is priced accordingly. I’m selling as I’m weighing up my options.

Good Points / Features

This is a well-specced and genuinely comfortable car:

• Apple CarPlay / Smartphone integration
• Air conditioning
• Automatic gearbox
• Tyres in very good condition (front recently replaced, rears also good)
• All usual electrics and features working (windows, mirrors, infotainment etc.)

Maintenance / History

The car has been maintained sensibly during my ownership, including:

• Recent servicing (oil and filters)
• Gearbox oil change carried out in Sept 2023
• Timing belt and water pump replaced previously
• Rear coil springs replaced
• Front lower suspension arms replaced
• V-belt tensioner replaced

I have receipts/history to show for the above.

Known Issues (Please Read – This is why it is priced as it is)

I’m being upfront so the right buyer can make an informed decision.

1) Engine warning light on

• The engine warning light is currently illuminated.
• The car still starts and drives well, pulls well and is usable.
• I have a garage appointment booked (12th January) to diagnose and fix this if the car doesn’t sell beforehand.
• The buyer may wish to investigate/repair depending on their expectations.

2) Noise at idle

• There is an intermittent mechanical-type noise at idle (comes and goes) which disappears when revved.
• It does not affect drivability, but I want to disclose it honestly.
• Likely something peripheral (vacuum/aux belt/pulley type noise), but I’m not diagnosing it myself.

3) Cosmetic damage

• There is cosmetic damage to the rear left quarter / bumper area from a low-speed knock (see photos).
• The car drives normally and the damage is cosmetic only.
• I have had a bodyshop quote of around £1,300 - £1,600 if the buyer wishes to repair it, but it is optional.

Who This Car Is For

This car is ideal for someone who:

• wants a good value A4 Avant
• is comfortable with Cat S history
• can sort a couple of mechanical items (or has a trusted garage)
• understands older high-mileage cars

If you’re looking for a showroom-perfect Audi with no warnings or marks, this won’t be the right car — but if you want a solid daily driver project with lots of comfort and spec at a solid price, it’s a great option.
