Orange, NJ- Orange Bank in the County of Essex $1

PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. The bank was organized in 1828 and remained in business until 1865 when it became the Orange National Bank. The $1 design features a vignette of a farm family stopping at the local blacksmith shop to exchange the news of the day flanked by a vignette of a young girl shading her eyes at left and an oval male portrait at right. There is an orange overall tint with three large orange and white 1 protectors and two white ONE protectors in the signature spaces.
