This has a region free chip installed.  It's not a piggyback but full replacement.  It will play any region game and backups as well.

This console has been treated with UV protection to help keep it nice.

 The ceramic capacitors on the motherboard and disc drive are from renowned Japanese manufacturer Murata. They are of the highest quality and are all Japanese made.

Why ceramic capacitors ?

- They have an extremely long lifespan (several decades).

- They'll never leak.

- They are highly heat-resistant

The controller port:

The internal clock battery is replaced with a battery socket.  If the battery dies ever again, you just pull the old battery out and replace it. No soldering is required. Also comes with a  fresh CORRECT rechargeable battery installed (Maxell).

The old controller port fuse has been replaced with one that resets. Simply power off if you blow the fuse, and it will reset when turned back on. 

The disc drive:

All capacitors have been replaced with high-quality ceramic capacitors.

The laser has been cleaned. The gears and rails have been cleaned and re-greased with grease made for plastic gear drives.

The power supply :

It has all new electrolytic capacitors installed.

This is truly ready to play. I have gone through this and cleaned it inside and out. Lot of love in this system. Everything works as it should.
