Advertisement Transcript: INTRODUCING SOLOFLEX. IT DOESN'T JUST EXERCISE YOUR BODY. IT RESHAPES IT. A Soloflex is something like the Nautilus and Universal machines that have impressed you in health clubs. In fact, all three are based on the same well- established principles of progressive resistance. Unlike the others, however, Soloflex wasn't designed for health clubs, or for college and professional athletic teams, although it would be perfectly acceptable in any of them. Soloflex was made primarily for homes. Instead of filling a giant room, for example, it fits into a small corner. And instead of being a lot of different ma- chines, with each machine designed to develop only specific muscle groups in your body, it's one machine-one that can be instantly moved from station to station to completely exercise all the major muscle groups. And instead of generating the progressive resistance with cams, gears, chains, pulleys, levers, weights and other such unnecessary and complicated mechanisms, it's ingeniously simple. The resistance on a Soloflex comes from a series of intricately woven rubber rings. Rings so resilient and reliable, in fact, that they're also used as shock absorbers on the landing gear of a $1,200,000 corporate propjet. All told, Soloflex is the most significant piece of physical fitness equipment ever developed. An overstatement? Hardly. A complete set of Universal machines costs about $6,000. A complete set of Nautilus machines costs around $40,000. Neither system does as much as or more for the human body as a Soloflex, yet a Soloflex costs only $495, plus freight. If you've always promised yourself you'd get in shape but have never seemed to manage it with jogging, sit ups, tennis, swimming and so on... well, now there's no excuse.
