Presenting a near vintage shaker / drum instrument.

My guess is Native American in origin (especially given the colorful threads used to wrap the tip and bottom) however research shows it can be African , Jamaican or even Southeast Asia

I believe the base is Bamboo

And the inside is filled with some sorts of beads making it a shaker

Approx. 17” tall and 3” in diameter
