This lovely and historical Pagoda jar from China was considered a decorative and luxury item in China for the last few centuries. This vase with the traditional blue and white motifs is decorated with images of Chinese warriors, has a glossy finish and the rim of the vase is finished with a brass like glaze.

The crackled look of the vase is from a method known as "ge glaze", which occurs during the firing process and produces the fine cracks on the surface of the porcelain. These jars were collectible Chinoiserie, which is a Western term for designs that reflect Chinese artistic influences. And the "Chinois Crackle" is a vintage reproduction style from the mid to late 20th century made specifically for the export markets.

The jar comes with a traditional Chinese wood stand/base.

The jar is approximately 7 1/4" in height, the lid is 5 1/4" in diameter and the vase has a circumference of 15" at the widest point.

The jar is in good condition with no major chips, cracks or scratches or repairs. *** There is one minor hair line crack on the rim of the lid. The crack doesn't appear repaired and doesn't appear to have fractured all the way through to the other side of the porcelain lid. The crack doesn't appear to have affected the integrity of the porcelain lip on the lid.

Also, there is obvious browning or staining on the lid near the rim. This is most likely from crazing, or heat that was trapped under the glaze. It covers about 2/3 of the lid's circumference. Please see pictures. Also, there is normal surface wear on the bottom of the jar.
