Someone is going to have great fun with these! With British patent number: 386508 and as the name Finray suggests - they are lacking shades/glass plates to attach and become the 'rays' for these spectacular pendant fittings. Finally - after a good few years, I found a 2nd (exciting) example/images of one of these with glass fitted - beautiful pink fins with geometric pattern frosted and shaped to complement the central hexagon. (see final pic) The 4 fins will need holes - to be screwed into place, then 4 rectangular long pieces will slide into the inside slots to sit in the triangular base cups. 

I used string to try and show an idea of how these 'work'. 

The base measures abut 4.5'' across. The pink example sold describes it as 18'' in diameter - thus giving an idea of how large the fins were for that one. Also described as 'extendable' - whether that referred to chain length or height of the inner panes?! The inners will be about 3'' width to slot in. Would there be a limit to the height and also width of the fins though? I guess acrylic sheeting could be used these days? Thanks for looking and any questions, please ask.
