Very Good-. Edgewear, gutter starting after title page, residue from two crest removals, otherwise light wear. Solid hardcover.
Undated but has 1896 printed note affixed to front paste-down: "Consulate of Portugal, 8 February, 1896. The Consul for Portugal officially requests the honour of your presence at a solemn Te Deum which will be sung at the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart, in Main Street, on Friday, the 14th instant, at 11 a. m., in thanksgiving for the recent signal victories gained by the Portuguese Troops in India, and in East and West Africa. To Dr Spaight, Vice Consul for the United States of America." Dr James Spaight was the US Vice Consul at Demerara, British Guiana, close to Georgetown where the historic Church of the Sacred Heart largely served the Portuguese community.
