The Called Me The Wildman: The Prison Diary Of Henricke Nelsen
by Robert Hollingworth

Very good preowned condition, very minimal shelf and storage wear.

Very well researched and interesting book by Robert Hollingworth,
sharing the story and life of Henricke Nelson, Swedish immigrant who
lived secretly for 14 year from 1860's to the 1870's in the Tallarook ranges
in Victoria. Newspapers in the 1870's reported stories of 'Tallarook Wildman',
eventually he was captured, put on trial for vagrancy and sentenced to six
months gaol. He writes of famous colonists, the last tribal inhabitants, injustice,
crime, love, death and of his secret life amid the last fragments of an untouched
landscape.
