This is a brand new Innova Star Halo Mystere, 175g, in un-thrown condition. This red and white disc has a blue foil stamp, and is made of Innova's durable yet grippy Star plastic. A quite beautiful disc.
The stamp on this disc is from the 2023 Challenge at Goat Hill Park, held in Oceanside, California, won by Eagle McMahon on the MPO side and Maria Oliva on the FPO side. I was the TD for this tournament, so I have a few discs left over. The stamp commemorates the iconic stump basket position on Hole #8 and the palm trees that provide a backdrop for Hole #9's putting area.
The Mystere is a great hyzer-flippy high speed driver disc - it hasn't gotten a lot of recognition because not many Pros throw it, but it can be a great S-curve driver for lower-powered players. It flies a bit like a faster Valkyrie, and it performs best when thrown low, even to the ground. The Mystere has a flight rating of 11, 6, -2, 2. What does that mean? It means that it is a fast flyer with a large amount of glide, flips up at release and finishes with a modest amount of fade. Here's what the Innova web site has to say about the Mystere:
Like magic, this speed 11 driver carves smooth s-turn drives from the very first throw. The Mystere is the answer for perfect Speed, Turn, and Fade.Single discs are shipped in bubble envelopes with a cardboard insert, multiple disc orders are shipped in a box.
