A lovely antique Victorian sterling silver and glass pepper grinder hallmarked in London for 1887 by Heath & Middleton.  This pepper grinder has attractive hobnail cutting to the glass body which remains in excellent condition.  The silver topped lid can be removed, by unscrewing the finial, so that the peppercorns can be added.  The pepper grinder rests on a round silver base which houses the Peugeot movement designed to grind the pepper when the handle is turned.  This fine silver pepper grinder would be perfect to use on the table and would make an ideal gift.
