Original 1917 fraternal delegate badge from the Degree of Pocahontas (women’s auxiliary of the Improved Order of Red Men), issued for the 15th Great Council held in Napa, California on August 14, 1917.
The badge features a gilt “DELEGATE” top bar with horizontal pinback, suspended tricolor red-white-blue silk ribbon and a round medal. The medal shows a Native American woman’s portrait, grape cluster and leaves, and a colorful enameled totem / D of P emblem, with raised legend around the edge reading “15TH GREAT COUNCIL D OF P – NAPA CAL. AUG. 14, 1917.”
