Issued by the Oberstkämmerer (Lord High Chamberlain) of His Imperial and Royal Apostolic Majesty in Vienna to a German ally:
– Recipient: Prussian Major of Reserve, Infantry Regiment 116, Otto GRUSSDORF
– Decoration: Militär-Verdienstkreuz 3. Klasse with War Decoration
– Imperial decision dated 29 March 1916
– Document issued from the Oberstkämmereramt, Vienna, 3 April 1916
The document bears a large ink signature of Karl Graf Lanckoronski, k.u.k. Oberstkämmerer and privy councillor to Emperor Franz Joseph I, together with an additional office countersignature in violet ink and the blind-embossed imperial seal.
Condition: Thick period paper, 24 x 39 cm. Original folds, edge wear, light creasing and small tears as seen in photos, plus two punched filing holes to the left margin. The embossed seal is clear and the text and signatures remain strong and legible. No medal included – document only.
