Description
Condition: Used
It measures approximately 7 feet, has fast action, heavy power, and a max weight of 2 oz. I used it for boat casting and targeting obstacles during expeditions. It appears to have been designed in the U.S. for targeting large fish like sharks, barramundi, and tarpon, and is the most powerful of Gloomis' pack rods and multi-piece baitcasting rods. Because it was quite heavy, I cut the end of the grip and used it with an extended grip. I've used it like this for several years, so I don't think it will break or break (though this is an amateur modification. The grip length is roughly the same as the Go Phish Glass rod, listed separately). There are some scratches overall, but I think it's still in good enough condition for heavy use. While the rod says it's max weight 2 oz, it's powerful enough to handle up to 5 oz. While the material isn't specified, it feels like a glass composite, and the Loomis double taper is clearly evident. This rod also seems to be better suited to heavier reels with heavier spools than lightweight reels.
