An original photograph, nice composition & details, unfortunately there's no other identifying info besides the photographer's name on the backside. Some soiling and the card's border edges have been trimmed off- please view listing photos carefully.
This may have been a student at the Fort Edward Institute School in New York: Part of a larger collection of CDVs from a New York family with a large number of CDVs of students from the Fort Edward Institute- a school that opened in 1854 and closed after a fire in 1910. Some photos have no info other than the Nims photography logo on the backside. Others have in handwriting the student's name, hometown, the date and a few photos say Fort Edward Institute. Some photos have personalized messages like "Remember Me". The one photo that has all the info had the date of 1871, so I'm assuming many of the images date to around that time period and according to online info the school became an all girls school in 1890.

* I noticed a few of the young men had this hairstyle so it must have been a popular look for the time.

Measurements are in the listing photos.

Please view listing photos carefully- this original photo may have some or all of the following condition issues: soiling, creases, marks, corner & edge wear and overall age & wear.

Hope this makes a nice addition to any display or collection, I can combine shipping on multiple photo orders & thanks so much for taking a look!
