This style is the classic Andean brushed-knit full zip llama hoodie with hem drawstring and 2 front pockets sold in markets throughout the Andes mountains.

It is not a modern mass-manufactured item. This is artisan-style knitwear.

Most commonly made in:

• Peru (Cusco, Puno, Arequipa)

• Bolivia (La Paz, El Alto)

• Ecuador (Otavalo region)

The brand name “ANDINO” means “from the Andes” — it is not a city. It’s a common label used by Andean knitting cooperatives and market vendors.

This sweater does not have a fiber-content tag. This is very common for Andean artisan knits.

MOST LIKELY MATERIALS (based on construction + texture)

Brushed acrylic knit

Or acrylic/wool blend

These sweaters are traditionally made out of brushed acrylic yarn because:

• It mimics alpaca fur

• It is lighter for children

• It is easier to wash

• It produces the fuzzy, halo texture this sweater has. This is not made from alpaca wool .

Unisex, Fits child/youth size 6.

READ: The zipper pull has some wear to the metal on both sides. Please see the last two pictures. Otherwise, this sweater is in very nice pre owned condition.
