This is an authentic Japanese ceramic Noh mask “Ōkina” (翁) — a sacred mask symbolizing longevity and divine blessing — crafted and signed by master mask maker Nagasawa Ujiharu (長澤氏春), a respected member of the Japan Noh Mask Association, and published by the Franklin Gallery (フランクリン画廊) during the Showa era (c. 1960–1980s).
Unlike stage-used wooden masks, this piece was made as a high-quality ceramic art edition, intended for display and appreciation.
It faithfully captures the serene dignity of the traditional “Ōkina” used in classical Noh plays such as Takasago, with refined proportions, gentle facial modeling, and warm coloration.
The mask retains its original paulownia wood box (kiribako) inscribed 「長澤氏春作」and marked by the Japan Noh Mask Association and Franklin Gallery.
The inner surface bears the impressed signature seal 「長澤氏春」confirming authenticity.
Beautifully preserved with no cracks or restoration — a collectible representation of Japanese traditional art combining ceramic craftsmanship and Noh symbolism.
