Aprons hold a very special place in my heart.  Mother made all of hers and she always wore one.  I was the last of 4 girls and when I graduated from high school, mother gave me a lovely letter which included the note that she had "cut the apron strings" to allow me to make wise decisions and lead beautiful life.  She had actually cut off one of her apron ties and included that.

This particular apron was handmade using an upcycled blue and white skirt paired with a cute fabric of bright red cherries on a white background for the tie.  This is a larger apron with a skirt width of 27" (at waist), a skirt length of 23" and extra long ties.  The fabric is a poly blend and its got a beautiful drape - not stiff. Very pretty - reminds me of the 40's.

About Wildflower Studio:  Welcome to Wildflower Studio, where you'll find vintage and collectible treasures, beautiful fabrics and embellishments, charming home decor pieces and a menagerie of other items I have collected during my treasure hunting trips. Having grown up on a farm in the Midwest, I'm drawn to simple and natural items - I do love the worn and tattered look of old linens. I wonder what their story is and how I would use it - probably in some sort of sewing project. You'll find references to my mother in Wildflower Studio; sometimes scattered throughout the wrapped packages you receive, or perhaps as an element in junk journal supplies. Copies of pages from her Bible are on the back of some of my studio tags, complete with her notes and underlines; and pages from a beloved hymnal are a frequent addition to my packages. My mother was a gifted pianist and painter and most likely the reason that I love beautiful things. I hope you'll see a glimpse of her in my studio - Wildflower Studio.
