This framed, embroidered, silk kimono sleeve segment was purchased by my wife when we were stationed in Japan with the Air Force, circa 1984.  We do not know the exact origin.  The square frame is 14 3/4” and the sleeve segment iuniquely mounted and framed by Kanda’s Gallery B.O.Q.  Kanda’s was a gallery in Tokyo, Japan, that sold high-end art, particularly Japanese woodblock prints and modern Japanese art, in the latter half of the 20th century. They were known for their museum-quality framing.  The frame and subject are in perfect condition and come with robust packaging from Kanda.  You will note that Kanda removed some kind of tag & seal from the sleeve segment and included it on the back, next to their paper label—I have no idea what the seal means.  Enjoy!
