This is Micaceous Specular Hematite (Specularite) which is an iron ore from the Champion iron mine in Champion Michigan. This specimen has a mix of specular hematite and mica. You can see the glittery hematite with its fine grains and the mica flakes. The ore almost looks greasy due to the mix of mica and hematite.
Specular Hematite glitters all around from many angles. It looks just like glitter with its fine, shiny grains.
Specular Hematite can be cut and used for jewelry or as a display specimen.
