Grateful Dead Fans !! ... who are also Axe-Men !!! or Women !!!  Wow !!!!!  As offered here is indeed the Killer ! Guitar Lesson / Instructional Video ( DVD ) released by Grateful Dead Productions ( GDP, Inc. ) / Cherry Lane Music ... Featuring Nate LaPointe.  I mean hey ( & Hey Now ! ) - let's face it ... that since 1995 ( now well over 30-Years Ago ?!? - Wow ! ) we can't plan, scheme, mastermind, or even wedge ( nah ... ) our way up to the front-row(s) anymore - like we used to be able to do - ( & often ! out-West !! ) ... to claim that " sacred-spot " right in-between Garcia & Weir - to watch the Masters ! deliver their Ultra-Refined Guitar Playing Craft ! to the masses of the Deadhead Faithful !!!  And, as a lifelong student of Rock & Roll myself ... This ! was really how it was done - seeing how everyone would respond to the Live situation that was dealt, and just exactly when it was dealt.  And, getting close enough to the stage monitors themselves - helped a ton with this " True " lesson.  But, the fact is ... you've still gotta get the licks ' down '.  And, though the best way to do it ( obviously ... ) is to listen, and listen again - which assists heavily with tuning ( slightly drop / low, etc. ) - This ! is an Instructional DVD Video which can easily save you a Ton ! of time in cutting directly-to the basic ' chase '.  I mean let's put it this way ... I've been playing since I was a 15 year old kid, and I could play all of these Songs in my ' own ' style - but ... a couple of good watches through, and this DVD even gave me a variety of fresh & new ideas !  Any player worth their weight in Rock & Roll has their own style, and the simple fact is ... " something " can always ! be learned from another players.  Frankly, I actually sort of bought this DVD tongue-in-cheek just a bit - mainly because of the way-cool Richard Biffle Cover Art !  But, was pleasantly surprised with its content ... as I still to this day will occasionally use a few of these patterns of attack when delivering most of these tunes.  Personally for me, when I do play " Dead " - I've always been inclined to play it in the '80's style ( and with '80's tuning too ! ) ... but, this DVD Guitar Instructional " Styles & Techniques " step-by-step Breakdown ! by Nate LaPointe definitely directs you back to the Mostly-'70's style " Roots !!!
