Here is a 35+ -year-old compact Macintosh which came to me with a bad floppy drive and a slightly yellow case. This is one of the first Macintosh SE systems Apple produced, with a 1.44MB 3.5" floppy drive. It was made in Fremont, CA the 42nd week of 1989. The original 20MB Miniscribe SCSI hard drive is still installed, but it no longer boots.
The Mac SE uses an 8 MHz Motorola 68000 processor with a 16bit data bus. RAM has been upgraded to the maximum of 4MB. The 9" monochrome CRT monitor has no burnin, and a stable, bright display .
This Mac does not chime when powered on, but it keeps looking for a boot disk without giving any error messages. Unfortunately, it can no longer boot from floppy, (although it does accept and eject them).
I am happy to answer any questions about this system before your purchase. You will receive the exact hardware pictured here (but no keyboard, mouse, or cables). Note that the case is not cracked, but has started to yellow. Before I purchased this SE, someone removed an internal network or video card and did not replace the horizontal slot cover in the back of the case. All four original torx screws and four feet on bottom do remain.
I am selling this AS IS for parts/repair, with no return privilege.
