PCGS authenticated and graded AU 50. Medium reddish brown and light chocolate with frost in protected areas, particularly on the reverse. Sharp with very little wear on the devices but there are tiny planchet flakes on the obverse and specks of shallow reddish verdigris. The reverse, however, is smooth and absolutely choice. The obverse is centered on the planchet but the reverse is off a bit to K-10. Intermediate die state with fine cracks and strong die clashmarks on the obverse. Clearly superior to the Ford and Perkins examples, at least comparable to the Taylor coin. Weight 118.3 grains. The attribution and Sydney F. Martin Collection provenance are noted on the special PCGS label.
