The XTRAK 80 Pro in-vehicle UHF CB with an ATX970S 3.0 dBi heavy duty antenna, ready for the 4WD. Bluetooth location sharing shows you where the rest of the group is.

The OLED display and controls sit on the remote speaker mic, and the compact base unit hides away. The ATX970S is ground independent with a stainless steel spring and 4.5m of coax already terminated. Add an XTRAK 50 Pro handheld and you can share location on foot too.

Pair your phone with the free XTRAK Pro App and the radio shares your location with other XTRAK Pro radios, including the XTRAK 50 Pro handheld, even without mobile phone service. The radios need to be within UHF CB range of each other. The app also lets you change radio settings, manage Selcall contacts and extra receive channels, find repeaters and send short text messages.

ATX970S heavy duty antenna

The ATX970S is a 3.0 dBi ground independent radome antenna, made for all-round use on flat terrain, in town and in the country. It has an aluminium ferrule and a heavy duty stainless steel spring, and stands 702mm tall once mounted. It comes with 4.5m of low loss coax, an FME connector with PL259 adaptor, a locking key and a weather cap.

The radio records what it receives, in normal channel mode and while scanning. Press the red REPLAY key to hear the last message again, and skip back through up to 6 minutes of recent transmissions. Frequently asked questions

Do I need a ground plane for the antenna?

No. The ATX970S is ground independent, so it works on a bull bar or bracket mount without a metal ground plane. It comes with 4.5m of coax already fitted with an FME connector and PL259 adaptor.

What phone do I need for the app?

An iOS or Android smartphone with Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The XTRAK Pro App is a free download. Software updates and offline maps download through your phone, so Uniden suggests using WiFi as the files can be large.

Do I need a licence to use it?

UHF CB in Australia is covered by the ACMA Citizen Band Radio Stations Class Licence, and you must follow the conditions in that licence. Uniden notes the radio must only be used in the country of purchase.

Can I talk on all 80 channels?

Most of them. Channels 22 and 23 are for data only, so voice transmission is blocked, and channels 61, 62 and 63 are reserved for future use and are receive only. Channels 5 and 35 are emergency channels.

Will it work in my truck?

Yes. It runs on 12V or 24V DC and accepts 10.2V to 28.8V, so it suits cars, 4WDs, caravans and trucks. It alerts you if the supply goes too high or too low.
