I got this watch at a garage sale from a couple that were in their 70's. They got it from her father who was a USN UDT Frogman in WWII. He passed away about 5 years ago. This was his watch issued during his service in WWII. The watch works and keeps good time. Sometimes it the second hand sticks if it is wound up from fully unwound condition and may need a tap to get the second hand ticking. The band came with the watch but does not appear to be original. The face looks in good condition without any moisture stains. I do not know if it has ever been opened and serviced.
There is a watch registry for these "Canteen" watches and this serial number (127C) is lower than any that are listed. It may be extremely rare. Here is the site that tracks these watches: https://ihc185.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/990103944/m/779108991
The rare coin is to gauge size and is not included in the purchase.
