Superb pumpkin style tea set by the venerable metalware maker James Dixon and Sons. This collectible set includes teapot, hot water pot, creamer and sugar bowl with lid. There is faint gold-washing still visible in the sugar bowl and creamer. The plating is in generally very good condition, you would struggle to find better in silver plate of this age, the makers mark appears on the base of the items. These pieces are EPBM (electro plated britannia metal which is an alloy of tin, antimony and copper) and likely date to the late 19th or early 20th century. The pieces are very heavy, and the set weighs just over 3 kg. This tea service makes for a great display item, but could also be used and enjoyed.
