The Original Oak Cutter Bench was designed by Niels Hvass in 1999 ~

for The Danish Museum of Art and Design's annual exhibition ' Walk the Plank' which showcased the skill of contemporary furniture designers and cabinet makers

Known for creating designs that prioritise the user experience whilst aiming to captivate and inspire

Skagerak, a Danish design company founded in 1976 has roots deeply rooted in Scandinavian design and good craftsmanship

Its minimalist design makes the bench a beautiful example of the classic Scandinavian design tradition

Neils Hvass says '"he bench radiates unrivalled simplicity. The precision made bars merge with the coherent design in sublime harmony"

The cutter range has since been expanded to include similar matching pieces

Made from Oak (more recent ones are made from teak to enable outside use)

This piece is an original before the merger to 'Skagerak by Fritz Hansen'

Please note: Untreated oak will show marks and signs of use overtime. This piece has been very looked after and is in stunning condition. 

We recommend using a Danish conditioning oil if you want to protect it against everyday 'family' life ~ happy to do so before delivery if you require, please ask
