GRAY, Alasdair. Unlikely Stories, Mostly. London: Canongate. 1983. Small 8vo. First edition. Publisher’s striking dark blue cloth decorated in the author’s customary gilt design, in the equally marvelled dust jacket, with illustrated half-title, title pages and various sketches throughout. The author’s second work after his remarkable Lanark (1981) and before his now famous Poor Things (1992). This copy near fine, the cloth clean, the binding tight and square. The contents clean throughout. The dust jacket unclipped and complete, just a trifle bumped but an attractive copy in Mylar.
