About this guitar:

This guitar came directly from Fender to my supplier, it has never been sold retail, the protective covers are still on the pick guard and truss rod cover..  It was tested by factory trained technicians and no issues were found, the electromics work as designed, there is no fret buzz and the set up is to factory specs.  When we polished the guitar we did not find any blemishes or other issues with the body.  The action on this guitar is incredible, it is one of the lowest actions you will find on an acoustic.

Here is what Fender says about the Tim Armstrong Hellcat:

The Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat is based on Tim's old 1960's Fender acoustic-on which he writes all of the songs for his legendary punk rock band Rancid.  Armstrong has given the Hellcat his personal touch with pearly acrylic "Hellcat" logos on the third, fifth and seventh frets, and a pair of skulls adorning the 12th fret.

The top of the Hellcat is solid mahogany, with laminated mahogany on the back and sides.  Scalloped X bracing ensures that the body has the proper bracing to give a solid acoustic sound.

The Hellcat takes full advantage of today's electronics by having a Fishman Isys III Pickup System with Active On-Board Pre-Amp and Tuner.  Whether you are playing as a pure acoustic, or are amplified using the Fishman, you will be pleased with the full acoustic sound that you get from the Tim Armstrong Hellcat.

FAQ, frequently asked questions

Why are instruments sent to a refurbisher?  The instrument could be a discontinued model, have a finish imperfection, or need a minor repair.

Who refurbishes your instruments?  All of my instruments come from the largest and best refurbisher in the country, where any issue found is corrected by a factory trained and authorized luthier.

Does a refurbished instrument have the manufacturer warranty?  No, any instrument sent to a refurbisher, regardless of the reason it was sent there, no longer carries the manufacturer warranty.  Per agreement with Fender there is a small used stamp on the back of the head stock, the last two digits of the stamped serial number have been removed and a sticker with the serial number has been placed over the stamped number.

Will I need to set up my instrument when I receive it?  All of my instruments have been set-up before shipping, so most are ready to play out of the box.  However some instruments may need a minor adjustment after shipping due to changes in temperature, humidity, and  getting bumped around during shipping.  Also some players like to set up a new guitar to their own personal preferences.
