Brass, with nickel plating. It could be chrome, but this often has a blueish tinge, which is absent here.

Original Art Deco circa 1920 – 30, nailed on cool.

No maker's mark that I can see.

Ready to fit physical condition. The plating has worn in places, revealing the brass below. This will continue with time and use or could be paused with a light layer of furniture wax or similar periodically. You could allow the wear to progress until just so, and then start to preserve it.
