Viscoloid toys are vintage toys made from a type of plastic called pyroxylin plastic, often referred to as celluloid. The company, which was originally founded in Leominster, Massachusetts in 1901 as the Sterling Comb Company, started producing toys in 1914. By the 1920s, it was the largest pyroxylin plastic toy manufacturer in the United States.
