Due to product-to-product variations in gallon sized jugs (plastic thickness and product design), it is difficult to determine cap size by measuring the “T” dimension of your jug’s neck; instead, carefully measure your own caps in order to select the correct size

Water jug's label will specify which cap size is needed, or measure jug's T Dimension for proper cap size selection. See below for measuring instructions. Compatible with many 3 and 5-gallon plastic water dispenser bottles that require twist on (screw-on) caps.
Dimensions of 48mm cap: ID: 48mm ( inches), OD: 50mm ( inches). 48mm cap for use on models such as: AquaNation, Crystal Spring, Primo (Walmart, Lowe’s) bottles with twist caps, New Wave Enviro, and Ore International.
Dimensions of 53mm cap: ID: 53mm ( inches), OD: 55mm ( inches). 53mm cap for use on models such as: American Maid.
Not for use on water dispenser bottles that require snap on caps, such as: Polar Artic, Nestle PureLife, Primo bottles (ones with snap on caps), Ice River, and Glacier. Not for use on glass jugs.
To find the T-Dimension, using a caliper or ruler, measure the diameter of the outmost threads at the top of the jug. The resulting millimeter measurement will be the T-Dimension. The size 48mm cap will work for jugs with an 48mm ( inches) T-Dimension, and the size 53mm cap will work for jugs with a 53mm ( inches) T-Dimension.
