  • Boards show some wear at lower edges, a scratch to back cover, edgewear.  Corners are sharp.  See photos.  
  • Spine has gilt text a little dimmed with bumped ends.
  • Binding is strong.  
  • End papers/ pastedowns show little to no sign of age or wear.
  • Frontispiece is present and has intact tissue guard; tissue is a little foxed.
  • Illustrations, black and white photographs, are bright and clear.  
  • Interior exhibits some marginal toning.  Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
  • Text block edges have deckle fore and foot edges, some unopened edges.

A generally Very Good copy of this genealogical history of a Bucks County, Pennsylvania, family.  Handsome edition by J.B. Lippincott in Philadelphia, published privately for the author's family members.  Fern Green buckram boards with gilt title in gothic script.  Some rubbing to extremities and edgewear.  Interior buff paper is toned at edges; photographs are printed on glazed photo paper.  Unmarked. 

Valentine Hunsicker, the ancestor from whom the Pennsylvania family that bore his surname descended, was born in 1700 in Canton Zurich, Switzerland.  Valentine emigrated to America in 1717 with his maternal grandparents.  He eventually settled in Lower Milford, established a farm of some 200 acres, married twice and sired seven children.  The descendants of Valentine's son Henry are the subject of the present study.
